As you walk on the cramped 100ft road of Indiranagar, it’s hard to miss the sudden appearance of a beautiful white building at a place where I just can’t figure out what existed before. This white building is a recently opened restaurant by the name of Smoke House Deli. Smoke House Deli is a restaurant chain existing in Delhi and Mumbai as well.
The outside appearance of the place is enough to figure out what you will see inside. The walls are filled with sketches ranging from a square dedicated to “The Raghu Dixit Project” to wall size grocery shelf image. It takes a while to get used to the place before you settle in.
The complimentary bread basket like any other place is quite ordinary… but the little jute pouch in which it comes steals the show. They definitely know how to sell the least attractive things as well 🙂
The food at Smoke House Deli is marvelous to say the least. Rarely has it happened that all the dishes ordered turned out great! The subtle flavors and the great presentations left us in awe.
Chicken Franks Hot dog : Simply a hot dog done well
Spinach Ricotta Ravioli : The spinach surprise in the ravioli is a stunner here! So many flavors in one bite!
Roast Garlic, Plum tomato fettuccini : I’ve always been vary of red sauce as it gets too sour at times. The red sauce here however was very subtle and likable. Theoverall dish had no over powering flavor which made it a winner for me
Wild mushroom, artichoke crepe “Gratin” : This was the surprise dish for us! An amazing dish recommended by our server. Extremely soft on the palet, the dish is one of the best vegetarian European dishes I have ever had.
Desserts : Cheese cake and Hazelnut mousse… pictures say it all
Overall the place is a little pricey, but completely worth the money! A rare delight for vegetarians! An absolute must go!
